This pan is of great quality. It is a heavy pot, so I expect it will last a lifetime. I've only had it about a month, but I have used it several times and it cooks great. It is a wonderful pan that disperses heat evenly -- which makes it perfect for cooking foods that require water to be a rolling boil. I purchased it on sale, I wouldn't have paid 90 bucks for it as it retails for, but it is a hight quality pan and of great value so it was definately worth the sale price.

I love this saucepan. I am a graduate student and I don't earn enough to afford any other high-quality cookware, but this saucepan is a much better piece of equipment than the lower-end saucepans I own. For one thing, it heats evenly so that I don't burn my food as often. Also, it's thicker which makes it more forgiving of slight temperature variations.I'm not a professional cook by any means, but I'm quite experienced for a male graduate student and I work hard in the kitchen. Good food is important to me, and good tools are essential. I rate this saucepan as highly as my set of J. A. Henckels knives. If you have ever used a set of those knives this should be equivalent to a letter of recommendation.

The pros: Calphalon is a great material for cooking, it has a very uniform heat distribution and is very solid. On this piece, the shallow design is perfect for simmering up your favorite sauce. The curved lip makes spills a thing of the past.The cons: Calphalon is not dishwasher safe, so make sure you are ready to hand-wash your new pan. Also, avoid drips down the outside of your cookware at all costs - Calphalon stains like crazy! They DO sell a cleanser, haven't had a chance to clean mine yet - so I hope it works. Finally, this is NOT the standard depth pan, it is SHALLOW, so make sure you know what you are buying.Final word: This is a fantastic price for this piece of cookware - can you believe this is going for 60% off? Problem is, if you want to complete the set, you had better be willing to shell out some serious dough. If you love to cook, can afford Calphalon, and don't mind the clean-up, this is the pan for you.
